Changing the World. Creating lifelong memories. Bringing moments to life as art ... one photograph in time.
About Me ...
I am a self-taught photographer and love shooting digital format.
I am also a Professional Photographer of America Member #8398288.
Not everyone has the chance to pursue their passion and be a part of something bigger than themselves. Through my lens I am able to stop time, capture a moment - a raw emotion, an overwhelming feeling, an inspiring landscape, an unspoken thought - preserve it, give it meaning, bring that moment to life as art and then share it with the world.
Every photo shoot, every moment captured is different and unique, a chance for me to share my passion and my very candid, natural style of photography. Getting to know my clients, capturing their interactions, and sharing their story is the most meaningful part of what I do.
I have the honor of photographing special events, local landscapes, portraits, and sports in the Greater Detroit Metropolitan area. I have also traveled to shoot in California, Florida, Grand Cayman Islands, and Mexico.
My Style ...
If you want to have fun creating unique and artistic portraits, then together we will make a great team! On the other hand, if you're looking for that perfect pose with the perfect hair and a perfect smile … then I’m probably not the photographer for you. I want to capture you, the real you, and those little moments that are forever going to be special to you - images that tell your story.
I try to make it easy for you to be in front of the camera, guide you through the entire shoot and always encourage clients to just be themselves and have a good time. By using natural light and unique indoor and outdoor locations, I am able to create artwork that could never be reproduced in a studio.

SEEING THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHS
I am excited to have completed The Museum of Modern Art's first online course titled “Seeing Through Photographs”, a 6-session class designed to help you go beyond simply seeing photos and advance to truly understanding them.
The class was led by Sarah Meister, the curator of the Department of Photography at MoMA.
The themes for the 6 sessions were: Introduction to Seeing Through Photographs, One Subject, Many Perspectives, Documentary Photography, Pictures of People, Constructing Narratives and Challenging Histories, and Ocean of Images: Photography and Contemporary Culture.
Each session had quizzes, and the course had a final project to complete.

PHOTOGRAPHY BASICS AND BEYOND: FROM SMARTPHONE TO DLSR SPECIALIZATION
I am also thrilled to be enrolled in a 5-part specialization created by Professor Peter Glendinning and Associate Professor Mark Valentine Sullivan at Michigan State University, which covers a broad range of fundamental principles in photography, from camera control to principles of composition and creativity, providing a foundation for growth in making photographs to be proud to share.
In the Capstone Project, I will develop a final project of photographs related to my individual needs, whether practical or purely expressive, and share ongoing feedback with fellow learners.
The top peer-reviewed projects will be awarded the opportunity for individual reviews by leading worldwide professional photographers who have been honored with selection as Canson® Infinity Ambassadors.

"Congratulations on completing the Photography Capstone Course, and indeed on completing all 5 of the Courses that comprise the Specialization, Photography Basics and Beyond. Having constructed the courses and taught them, we know just how much work has been involved on your part in completing assignments, passing quizzes, engaging in peer review, and gaining the knowledge through study and practice to achieve your goals in photography. You should be justifiably proud of achieving this milestone, as we are of you".
- Peter Glendinning and Mark Sullivan
"I have seen a lot of sports photography, and did quite a bit of it in my youth, and these are really first rate examples of everything that is necessary for success: clearly a knowledge of the game and an ability to anticipate; intuitive response to the instant of decisive action; camera control that is second nature; and, in the portrait aspects, a keen sensitivity to the moment of true expression by the subject. Geoff Winningham's book, Rites of Fall: High School Football in Texas, is one that I think you would enjoy. He takes a somewhat acerbic look at the subject, but covers it in a way that you might be inspired to...and that is to look at, as you already have begun, the larger community and the impact that Friday nights have on it all through the week and the season. You have a very solid foundation to move on from, and I hope that you will use your talents to expand this!"
