Week 7 - 2019

A lighthouse along Lake Michigan, just outside Zeeland, MI.

Everything about this image is wrong -
landscape photo but very shallow field of view
no 'light' in the lighthouse,
no Rule of Thirds, no Golden Sprial
horizon is way too low,
seagull is flying out of the frame
half the tree isn't in the frame
part of the light house is missing
implied negative space,
under exposed
- yet somehow it works, and conveys to the viewer the feeling of the moment.
